Happy New Year 2022 [Sakura Day]

Happy New Year greetings from me and the main cast from my webcomic Sakura🌸Day (left: angel Michael, Jonas, Meija, Josef)! We hope 2022 will be kinder to us all and for the chaos to tone down a little. Lemme know which one's yer pick!

My first illustration for the new year: an eclectic experiment with colour and textures. The aesthetic, which wasn't initially planned, was the most fun part; one can imagine it's like a vintage 1920's postcard from Morocco only it's a month early for the Chinese New Year. As for the "colour of the year 2022", google gave me 2 conflicting colours, "veri peri" (Pantone) and "evergreen fog" (hence v.1) so I settled using one for the key colour. I'm posting all the colour variations (8) here (I made more than that but these match the vintage aesthetic in my mind). The thumbnail is obviously my favourite.
